After doing alot of research I ended up purchasing this subwoofer. I live in a townhome and bought this to compliment my in-wall system. Produces crisp clean bass and this little guy can definetly shake a room if desired. If your looking for a subwoofer that won't break the bank but deliver a punch, you can't go wrong! Unless you have a in-home theater the professional grade subs in my opinion are overkill.

I have a Yamaha YSP-900 Digital Sound Projector which had iffy bass, and this fills outs the sound to make a full 5.1 surround, emulated of course. This subwoofer was specifically designed for the YSP series, I am not sure it's value to others. Very rich sound, low rumble, not ultra powerful though but absolutely enough for me. The audio can be adjusted directly through the remote for the sound projector, although not the power switch. Good item, bought here for 120 + ship but see it's ~129 @ newegg right now w free shipping, I wouldn't pay too much than that for the subwoofer. Once you get into the $200 range you would be better served looking at pro level subwoofers.

I have owned larger more expensive JBL down firing powered subwoofers and bose speakers in the past. For the money and size, this Yamaha unit works extremely well. Although I'm running mostly sony components, this unit has the power to handle a 7.1 surround system set up. Other than the low price of around $200.00, the size is the main reason that I bought this unit. It can either fit under a bed, or in a small space. I have it stuck inside a closet and it works great. The bass is very clear and only needs to be adjusted on the unit to about the half way mark. I would definately recommend this Yamaha unit to anyone looking for a subwoofer to complement their system or upgrade.

After some research I chose this model to compliment my new Yamaha sound bar . I was surprised just how good it performed for such a small unit. I also like the system connector which allows you to control it through your main Yamaha component. Haven't found anything wrong with it so far and have listened to a ton of music and watched a few films (Batman begins was just excellent with the new bass). It's perfect for someone who doesn't want to spend too much and definitely a must if you have a sound bar.

This unit delivers phenomenal performance for the money. In my application, I was constrained by the available space. This unit fit perfectly. It does not have all of the bells and whistles, e.g., remote control, but don't let that stop you. It matches very well to Vizio sound bar that I have. It's quality of sound is very good..

Using this subwoofer with a Pioneer receiver with a center speaker and two front speakers. It adds great bass to music, movies, and TV. Easy to use, plug in and turn on. Looks great and is not massive in size.

Aesthetically sweet design, Powerful smooooth lows. I have the control volume at about 1/3 of it's maximum capacity, and it makes my room rumble with delight. I have it hooked up to an Onkyo 607 receiver, and it just works wonderfully. It would be nice to be able to control it (turn it of and on) remotely as you would be able to with a Yamaha receiver, but besides this it's a great purchase.

This unit is perfect for a small to medium size area/room. The small foot print makes it easy to place. It is also a good looking unit. Hook up takes only minutes and simple operation. A good buy.

I was initially skeptical that a sub this small could produce the chest-thumping bass I craved with movies. But the Yamaha fit into the space where I had room, and I went for it. Setup was a piece of cake. For some reason my Yamaha A/V reciever didn't have a place to hook the system connector (or at least I couldn't find it). I was disappointed. But as far as I know all that connection does is turn the subwoofer power on and off automatically with the receiver. I accomplished the same thing by plugging the subwoofer's power cord into the switched outlet on the back of my receiver. For most of my listening to TV and movies, the subwoofer doesn't kick in because it doesn't need to. But when I put the Master and Commander DVD in my Blu-Ray player and cranked up the volume to a low-moderate level, my wife reported she felt the floor shaking at the opposite end of the house. There was absolutely no question that I had some new sounds. My only wish is that this had a setting to adjust the low-pass filter so I could fine tune it with my main speakers. But I'm not at all sure I could improve the sound by doing that. It seems to work seamlessly. In short, if space and budget are tight and you have only a modest listening area, this Yamaha does the job and does it without any drama. (Drama supplied by your movies and music.)
